This is the blog for my charity, Caroline's Safehouse for Stray and Abandoned Cats.  I have run a private rescue for years, funding it out of my own pocket.  I have always had a home full of rescues, from 5 to 10 at a time, depending upon my quarters.  Even in a one bedroom apartment I had 6 cats.  Ssshh.. don't tell my landlords!  But the time has come that the rescue has outgrown my meager resources and I need help.  So the charity came into existence.  I am fundraising currently to help me take proper care of the rescues I already have, with the aim of expanding over time.  I am actively looking for donors of property so that I can relocate the cats to a proper safehouse and separate them from my own living quarters.  This would allow me to apply for 501c3 status and let me give tax exemptions to donors.  At that level, I am hoping I can acquire volunteers to help me care for the burgeoning cat population around here.
